The government is developing a new vaccination plan by order of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. A number of Ministries and regional authorities will take part in it.
This was announced by the Minister of Health Maksym Stepanov on the air of the program Freedom of Speech (Svoboda Slova in Ukrainian).
New vaccination program
Now in Ukraine there is a vaccination roadmap that provides for five stages of vaccination against coronavirus. However, the new vaccination plan should take the vaccination process to a higher level.
The main difference of this plan will be the prediction of the number of vaccinations per month. It is planned to vaccinate more Ukrainians by the end of the year.
The third wave of coronavirus in Ukraine
In addition, the Minister warned that over the next two weeks, the number of patients with coronavirus will increase in Ukraine, because the third wave of morbidity continues in the country.
The figure can reach 25,000 new cases of coronavirus per day.
Coronavirus vaccine
At the same time, Stepanov announced a new contract for the supply of the coronavirus vaccine that would be signed this week. This vaccine will be delivered this year.
Until March 31, the remainder of the Covishield vaccine batch from India was expected. But the delivery is delayed due to a temporary ban on the import of the vaccine from the country.
In addition, Ukraine expects the first batch of coronavirus vaccine under COVAX. Under the program, 367,000 AstraZeneca vaccines from South Korea and 117,000 doses of Pfizer will arrive in the country. Also, by the end of May, Ukraine will receive at least 1.7 million vaccines.
