The National Commission on Securities and Stock Market (NCSSM) has suspended the license of the Ukrainian Interbank Currency Exchange on grounds of facts of illegal activity.
"The NCSSM (National Commission on Securities and Stock Market) has decided to suspend the license to carry out activities for organizing trade in products on the commodity exchanges of PJSC Ukrainian Interbank Currency Exchange until the end of martial law," the regulator’s statement reads.
The Commission reports that persons affiliated with the ultimate owners of the UICE and its board carried out activities without the appropriate licenses. The NCSSM suspends the license to check this information, as it may have a negative impact on the operation of commodity markets.
Recall that in April, Naftogaz resumed the exchange trading in gas, choosing the UICE platform for this.
The year before, the NCSSM annulled the license of PJSC Ukrainian Exchange to carry out professional activities.
