Ukrainian defenders demilitarized Russian tugboat transporting weapons to Zmiinyi Island with Harpoons

In the Black Sea, Ukrainian defenders hit the Russian fleet’s tugboat Vasily Bekh. This is reported by the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration Maksym Marchenko.

It is noted that the Russian ship came under attack while transporting weapons, ammunition, and soldiers of the Russian army to the Zmiinyi (Snake) Island.

Quote"Even the Tor anti-aircraft missile system on board did not prevent the Ukrainian Naval Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces from demilitarizing the Russian invaders," the report reads.

According to Dumskaya, the Harpoon anti-ship missile struck at 3:55 am.

Quote"The rescue operation is currently underway. The crew of the ship is 33 people, 23 of them were injured, ten were missing," the report reads.

"Vasily Bekh" was launched in 2016, began service in 2017. Its task is to tow damaged ships, extinguish fires on ships, evacuate people and perform search and rescue operations.
