Missile attack on April 28. Uman and Dnipro. What is known. Video. UPDATED at 1:40 p.m.

Around 5 a.m, on April 28, Russian invaders launched another massive missile attack on Ukraine, targeting Kyiv as well as the Cherkasy and Dnipropetrovsk regions. Civilians were killed and injured.

The Russian air force launched missiles from a Tu-95 strategic bomber. Ukrainian air defense forces intercepted 21 out of the 23 missiles and two drones.

The Kyiv Military Administration reported that air defense forces intercepted 11 cruise missiles over Kyiv. Besides missiles, two unmanned aerial vehicles were also shot. According to the administration, falling parts of the vehicle damaged a local power supply line and a road in the Obolonskyi district of Kyiv. Fortunately, there were no casualties.

In the town of Ukrainka, south of Kyiv, two people were injured after a missile hit, according to Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko.

Missile attack on April 28 in Uman

Uman was the city most affected by the attack. According to the Cherkasy Regional Military Administration, two missiles fell on the city. One ruined a warehouse, while the other hit an apartment block. One section was almost completely destroyed, with 27 apartments out of 46 ruined. The number of residents is estimated at 109. A three-day mourning period was announced in the city.

As of 7:17 a.m., it was reported that three people had been killed and eight had been injured. Rescue operations were ongoing.

As of 9:02 a.m., the number of people found killed had increased to six. Another nine people were injured.

As of 10:05 a.m., 10 people had been reported killed.

As of 12:30 p.m., the death toll rose to 12 civilians, and nine people were hospitalized.

As of 12:14 p.m., 14 people had been reported killed.

As of 3:40 p.m., the death toll was 15.

Missile attack on April 28 in Dnipro

According to preliminary information from the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, seven missiles were shot down over the region. In the city of Dnipro, a Russian missile destroyed a private house. A 2-year-old girl and a 31-year-old woman were killed. Three people were injured. A man, 58, and a woman, 57, were hospitalized with moderate injuries. Another man, 31, will seek medical attention as an outpatient. Buildings belonging to a private-owned company and a construction base were also damaged. At the former, the fire has been extinguished, while at the latter, firefighters continue to battle the fire.

(UPDATED at 12:30 p.m.) Two people injured by the missile attack on Dnipro are in serious condition, according to Suspilne. They have been hospitalized in one of the city’s hospitals with severe burns to their hands, legs, and faces.

Another injured person is undergoing surgery.
