Kyiv will purchase coronavirus vaccines at its own expense: who will get them

The Kyiv authorities are in talks with a number of American and European companies producing coronavirus vaccines. In particular, the capital to purchase 1 million doses of the medication for the vaccination of Kyiv residents.

Kyiv is ready to purchase the vaccine for the city budget funds, said the city mayor Vitali Klitschko during the online briefing.

Klitschko stated that he will use all his foreign contacts to provide the Kyiv residents with vaccines. He also noted that there are already preliminary agreements with some manufacturers.

In addition, according to the mayor, the capital has a ready-made infrastructure for vaccination. It is about vaccine storage equipment and vaccination rooms. He also promised that the specialists will conduct appropriate exercises on a centralized basis.

The coronavirus vaccine in Kyiv will be receive free of charge by:

  • aged people;
  • social workers;
  • educators;
  • transport workers;
  • housing and utility services specialists;
  • law enforcement officers;
  • rescuers.

Context. Citizens without health problems and not at risk will be able to get vaccinated for free in late 2021—early 2022.
