During 103 days of the full-scale war in Ukraine, 32 journalists were killed. This was reported by the Minister of Culture and Information Policy Oleksandr Tkachenko on Telegram.
"This year’s Journalist’s Day has a special taste of bitterness. The 4th month of a full–scale war — and we lost 32 journalists… In 8 years of war we lost even more. Memory eternal to our fighters of the information forefront," he said.
Tkachenko added that the Ukrainian information front is strong thanks to all the journalists.
Context. In Ukraine, the Journalist’s Day is marked according to the Presidential Order of May 25, 1994. On June 6, 1992, the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine was admitted to the ranks of the International Federation of Journalists.
