Ukrainian farmers have threshed 28,769,000 tons of grain by the end of the summer 2023.

The Government Portal reported the details.

Early maturing crops have been harvested on an area of 6,531,000 hectares (more than 25,000 square miles) with a yield of 4.4 t/ha (65,43 bsh/ac), including:

  • wheat threshed: 4,647,000 ha (yield: 4.72 tons/ha), 21,939,000 tons;
  • barley threshed: 1,484,000 ha (yield: 3.89 t/ha), 5,766,000 tons;
  • peas threshed: 154,000 ha (yield: 2.5 tons/ha), 385,600 tons;
  • millet threshed: 8,210 ha (yield: 1.76 tons/ha), 14,420 tons;
  • buckwheat threshed: 1,980 ha (yield: 1.47 tons/ha), 2,920 tons;
  • other grains and legumes threshed: 237,000 ha, 661,900 tons.

Odesa remains the leader in grain threshing with 3.2 million tons, followed by the Dnipropetrovsk region with 2.6 million tons and the Vinnytsia region with 2.3 million tons. The largest area of grain crops was threshed in the Zaporizhzhia region, which accounts for 96%. 15 regions have finished harvesting rapeseed. The threshed area is currently 1,389,000 hectares, and it yielded 3,985,000 tons of seeds with a yield of 2.87 tons/ha.

As we reported earlier, the total amount to be harvested this year in Ukraine is approximately 70 million tons.
