Railway ticket prices will increase by 2% monthly from March-April 2021.
This was stated by the Minister of Infrastructure Vladyslav Kriklii on the air of the V program "Breakfast with 1 + 1".
He noted that the change in prices is envisaged by the financial plan of Ukrzaliznytsia, so this should not be called an increase in ticket prices, but a slight indexation.
In addition, if the tickets are bought in advance, up to 40% discount can be obtained.
Context. Ukrzaliznytsia announced in 2020 that it plans to raise the cost of passenger transportation from March 1, 2021. Each subsequent month the price will rise by 2%.
In January 2021, Ukrzaliznytsia launched a pilot project of a chat bot in the Viber (ukr_railway) and Telegram (@Ukrzaliznytsia_Tickets_Bot) messengers. In the first release, tickets for trains of the "Intercity +" category can be bought.
