In the optimistic scenario, gas prices for the population in 2021 will rise by 20%, in 2022—by 10%, and in 2023-2024 they will add 5% annually, reports Ekonomichna Pravda (Economic Truth) referring to the government forecast.
At the same time, in 2021, Ukraunuans will have to pay 16-18% more for central heating and hot water than in the past. Next year the rise will amount to 6-9%, and in 2023-2024—from 3 to 5%.
According to the pessimistic scenario, electricity prices will rise by 38%. In 2022, electricity will rise in price by another 15-20%.
Context. Since February 1, the gas price for consumers in Ukraine has decreased, since the decision of the Rada on setting the maximum price for gas at 6.99 UAH came into force. This restriction will remain in effect until the end of the quarantine or until the end of the heating season.
