Zelenskyy proposes Rada to extend martial law and terms of general mobilization

Martial law and the terms of the general mobilization may be extended in Ukraine. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has submitted relevant draft laws to the Verkhovna Rada. This became known from the Verkhovna Rada website.

According to information on the Parliament website, the Verkhovna Rada got the documents on Wednesday, May 18. Currently, they have been submitted for consideration to the leadership of the Parliament. The text of the document is not available on the VR website.

Context. On February 24, the Verkhovna Rada imposed martial law over Russia's invasion of Ukraine at an extraordinary meeting. After that, it was extended several times. So far, martial law is in effect until 05:30 on 25 May.
