The Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) terminates the 34.22% anti-dumping duty on railway wheels from Ukraine.
"The anti-dumping measure against railway wheels from Ukraine will expire on January 22, 2021," the message says.
Context. The duty has been applied since January 22, 2016 to protect manufacturers of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) from competition with foreign suppliers.
On the territory of the EAEU, the railway wheels production is carried out in the Russian Federation and in the Republic of Kazakhstan by EVRAZ NTMK, Vyksa Steel Works, and Prommashkomplekt (Kazakhstan).
In 2018, the rate was increased from 4.75 to 34.22% of the customs value due to the dumping policy tightening.
At the same time, from August 25, 2019 to June 1, 2020, the measure was suspended in order to prevent a shortage of railway wheels in the EAEU market due to a sharp increase in demand.
In Ukraine, the production of wheelsets for railway transport is carried out by Victor Pinchuk's Interpipe.
