Ethiopia will obtain another 30,000 tons of Ukrainian wheat

Ethiopia will obtain another 30,000 tons of Ukrainian wheat. The fourth vessel has departed from the Chornomorsk sea port under the #GrainFromUkraine program, the Ministry of Development of Communities, Territories, and Infrastructure of Ukraine reported.

The AMIRA HANA bulk carrier will ship 30,000 tons of wheat to the port of Djibouti, from which the grain will be delivered to Ethiopia, whose residents suffer from hunger.

Quote"At the end of the last year, the ports of Odesa had already dispatched three vessels carrying 80,000 tons of humanitarian wheat from Ukraine for Ethiopia and Somalia," the report says.

The GrainFromUkraine program has been initiated by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and is supported by the UN World Food Program and developed countries around the world. The primary goal is to provide countries suffering from hunger with access to Ukrainian grain. More than 30 countries have already joined the program, and the donations have nearly reached $200 million.

As we reported earlier, Ukraine’s agribusiness sector suffered significant losses due to Russia’s aggression but retained its export capability. In the first 11 months of 2022, the exports of agricultural products and food fell by 13.7% versus the same period the previous year, amounting to $21.1 billion.
