Diplomats defiantly left the UN Council Chamber during a video speech by the RF Foreign Minister Lavrov in protest over Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
In his speech, Lavrov justified the attack on Ukraine as a "violation of human rights by the Ukrainian side." The Foreign Minister of the aggressor country was supposed to come to the meeting in Geneva in person, but the trip was canceled due to the closure of EU airspace for Russian aircraft.
