The court arrested the movable and immovable property of the relatives of MPs Viktor Medvedchuk and Taras Kozak. The State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) reported this on its Telegram channel.
According to the SBI, relatives of Medvedchuk and Kozak appear in criminal proceedings on suspicion of abusing power and violating the rules for protecting or using subsoil and legalizing proceeds from crime.
The size of the authorized capital of the six arrested enterprises is more than 80 million UAH. The arrest was imposed, in particular, on three land plots, 11 non-residential buildings and premises, there are premises among them of almost 300 square meters in the very center of Lviv. 126 vehicles were also arrested, including cars, KRAZ and KAMAZ trucks.
Further, the SBI will initiate the transfer of the seized property to the Asset Recovery and Management Agency.
Context. In May 2021, Viktor Medvedchuk and his colleague in the Opposition Platform — For Life, Taras Kozak, were charged with high treason. Prosecutor General Iryna Venediktova said that they were informed of suspicion in three episodes.
Earlier, employees of the regional administration of the Lviv SBI conducted searches at almost 30 properties of Medvedchuk and Kozak, and the court arrested the corporate rights and accounts of the enterprises.
