Ukraine lost control over Lyman in Donetsk Oblast

On Monday, May 30, the Russian occupiers announced the takeover of Lyman (Chervonyi Lyman until 2016) – a city in the Kramatorsk District, Donetsk Oblast. The Presidential Office of Ukraine confirmed the information.

"Our sources confirm that Lyman is de-facto under Russian control. Fighting is going on nearby Lyman in the direction of Ozerne, towards the crossing of the Siverskyi Donets River, followed by Siversk," said Ukrainian presidential adviser, Oleksiy Arestovych, on Feygin Live.

He added that Ukrainian soldiers are fighting fiercely for Sievierodonetsk, which is under Ukrainian control now.

According to British intelligence, the capture of Lyman contributed to the aggressor's main task to encircle Sievierodonetsk with the Ukrainian defenders in the Luhansk region.

Context. Last night russians launched a missile attack on Sloviansk in Donetsk Oblast, at least six people were wounded and three killed.
