The Cabinet of Ministers approved the launch of a pilot project for issuing passports abroad.
This is stated in government Decree No. 678 that will enter into force on June 25.
Citizens will be able to obtain new and exchange old passports through branches of the State Migration Service abroad.
The government instructed the Ministry of Internal Affairs to prepare a report by the end of 2022 on the results of the project implementation for 6 months and present it at a government meeting.
The State Migration Service may extend the validity of the passport of a Ukrainian citizen for going abroad by stamping on the page with special marks.
As reported, the return of Ukrainian refugees requires compliance with certain procedures, so special attention should be paid to the documents.
If a citizen of Ukraine who went abroad after the outbreak of the war has an expired passport, then one needs to contact the consular diplomatic institution or the embassy of Ukraine in the host country. One must apply for an extension of the passport validity.
