Ukrainian defenders confirmed the Russians’ humiliating retreat from Bakhmut, as claimed by Wagner

Official statement. The claims made by Yevgeny Prigozhin, head of the Wagner terrorist group, about the retreat of the Russian 72nd separate motor rifle brigade from Bakhmut and the "500 corpses" of Russians left there are true.

The statement was made on social media by the Third Separate Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Quote"The Third Assault Brigade appreciates the coverage of our success on the frontline. However, we would like to add some detail," Ukrainian defenders wrote.

During two days of assault operations on the south-west of the city, fighters of the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade as part of the Azov Tactical Group neutralized 64 invaders, while 87 are still being neutralized. The data being clarified.

Quote"They include members of the Wagner Group as well. We also currently have five Russians taken prisoner of war," the brigade added.

The destroyed Russian equipment deserves special attention, the brigade noted. It includes a few ammunition depots, mortars, and multiple infantry fighting vehicles.

Context. On Wednesday, May 10, the Wagner Group will turn over their positions to forces controlled by Ramzan Kadyrov, the leader of Chechnya.
