At around 10.30 a.m. on January 10, the enemy attacked the Kyivskyi district of Kharkiv from the side of Belgorod using S-300 anti-aircraft missiles. Oleh Synehubov, the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, reported this on Telegram.

"A hotel was damaged. One missile hit the ground near the facade of the building, and another one hit its roof and partially ruined the rear part of the hotel. Twelve people were injured. Two people are currently in the hospital: a man of 35 in a severe condition and a woman of 71, whose condition is moderately severe," he wrote.

The casualties include journalists working for a Turkish media outlet, namely a woman of Turkish nationality and a man of Georgian nationality, the press service of the regional prosecutor’s office reported.

"The military have never lived in this hotel, and almost all Kharkiv knew it. This hotel was used by journalists. This was a well-known fact. At the moment of the strike, there were foreign journalists in the hotel, including ones from Turkey. Therefore, I consider that Russia targeted the media intentionally," said Volodymyr Tymoshko, the head of the Kharkiv police.
According to Ihor Terekhov, the mayor, residential buildings were damaged besides the Park Hotel. These include a municipal house, a private house, a car dealership, and a production facility.
