20 Days In Mariupol

This is the directorial debut of Mstyslav Chernov, a war correspondent, photographer, videographer, and writer. Photographer Yevhen Maloletka and producer and journalist Vasylysa Stepanenko also contributed to the documentary. They were the last journalists to cover the beginning of the destruction of Mariupol by the Russians and were awarded the Pulitzer Prize for it.

The movie premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in the United States and was given the Audience Award.

In the Rearview

In the Rearview, another Ukrainian co-production nominated for the award, was directed by Maciek Hamela, Poland.

The documentary feature film depicts displaced Ukrainians — children, women, elderly people, and men — forced by the Russian invasion to leave their homes and move towards an unknown future.
