Patriot air defense systems from the United States, the Netherlands, and Germany have already been delivered to Ukraine, says Oleksandr Pavliuk, the first deputy defense minister of Ukraine.
"These air defense systems will enable us to protect ourselves from Russian cruise missiles and drones. We thank our partners for the significant reinforcement of Ukrainian air defense!" Pavliuk added.
Context. Yesterday, on April 18, the German government reported that it had delivered a Patriot system and ammunition.
At the end of December 2022, the United States announced that it would include the Patriot air defense system and respective munitions in the $1.85 billion military aid package.
The Patriot system can shoot down guided bombs.
