In the near future, the two countries are to sign the respective agreement developed by the Ukrainian Digital Ministry and the Ministry of Economy together with the British Department for International Trade.
"We are to become the second country in the world to sign a digital economy agreement with the U.K. Previously, a Digital Economy Agreement with Singapore was signed," the Ministry pointed out.
It is worth noting that the agreement to be signed will allow Ukraine to develop digital trade and innovations.
The following primary spheres of cooperation were outlined:
- financial technologies and payment systems,
- open digital markets,
- technical cooperation.
The Ministry of Digital Transformation emphasizes that digital trade is becoming a prevailing form of trade throughout the world. Meanwhile, by signing the agreement with the U.K., Ukraine will be able to engage in the global economy and improve its image as a trade partner. Moreover, it will help improve the credibility of Ukrainian businesses, attract investment, and develop small and midsize businesses.
"We believe that economic economic relations between Ukraine and the U.K. must be as convenient as our Diia application — 100% digital and minimum bureaucracy. We’re working toward a quick signing of the agreement," the Ministry of Digital Transformation emphasized.
