Turgis & Gaillard, a French company, signed a contract with the Ukrainian ANTONOV Company to produce a smaller and cheaper version of their Aarok MALE drone. The French media outlet LaTribune reported the news, citing its own sources.
The contract was signed during France’s Defense Minister Sébastien Lecornu's visit to Kyiv.
According to Ouest-France, Thales and Turgis & Gaillard agreed with the Ukrainian side on the joint development of drones during the September 29–30 Defense Industries Forum in Kyiv.
Turgis & Gaillard operates nine facilities with a staff of 300 employees. The company’s annual turnover is around $50 million.
Aarok is a French-made MALE-class uncrewed aircraft system with a maximum speed of 463 km/h and endurance of 30 hours, which doesn’t require dedicated infrastructure.
