The Netherlands to give Ukraine €122 million to buy ammunition

The Dutch government will allocate €122 million for the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Of this amount, €87 million will be used to buy artillery shells.

The press office of the country’s government announced the allocation on its website.

The government will pay €25 million to the International Fund for Ukraine (IFU) to purchase equipment. Another €10 million will be used to improve Ukrainian cyber defense.

Earlier, the Netherlands deposited €100 million in the IFU, an initiative of the United Kingdom. Money from the fund was used to purchase air defense systems, ammunition, and spare parts. The equipment is bought directly from industry to speed up its delivery to Ukraine.

The Netherlands also previously allocated €130 million for artillery shells for a German-led fund to purchase 155mm rounds, which is a pressing need for Ukraine.

In October 2023, the Netherlands announced the provision of additional Patriot surface-to-air missiles to Ukraine to prevent damage to the energy infrastructure from Russian missile attacks.
