The National Agency on Corruption Prevention has listed the UAE-based DP World port operator as an international sponsor of war.
This was reported by the press service of the NACP.
According to the NACP, in June 2023, DP World signed an agreement with the Russian state-owned corporation Rosatom regarding the development of the Northern Sea Route.
Notably, it is Rosatom that currently controls the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP).
The strategic cooperation between Rosatom and DP World will facilitate the transit of goods to Russia to circumvent sanctions, given that Rosatom systematically provides services to the Russian military industry by importing prohibited components for Russian tanks and aircraft. In addition, other illegal goods and weapons can be transported through the Northern Sea Route.
After the signing of the agreement with Rosatom, the head of the government of the Russian Federation, Mikhail Mishustin, stated that the development of the Northern Sea Route is a strategic project that will bring approximately $224 billion to the Russian budget. Therefore, the Russian official directly confirms the benefit the terrorist state will have from cooperation with DP World. These additional funds will be used by Russia, in particular, to finance the war against Ukraine.
What DP World owns in Ukraine
In 2020, DP World acquired 51% of the TIS container terminal in the Pivdennyi Port. In addition, DP World tranships Ukrainian grain, in particular, as part of the Grain Corridor.
Earlier, it was reported that the Irish-based Peninsula Petroleum Limited became the first company to be removed from the list of international sponsors of war by the National Agency on Corruption Prevention.
