The Hogan international personality assessment system has been translated into Ukrainian for the first time

Specialists from MHP, an international food & agrotech company headquartered in Kyiv, created the first ever Ukrainian translations of questionnaires and the Flash Report from the international Hogan personality assessment system used to survey employees. The new language option is now available for everyone on Hogan's official platform.

"We couldn't stay aside as one of the most important personnel assessment tool used at MHP wasn't available in Ukrainian, and so we initiated talks with our partners at Hogan and insisted that the questionnaires needed a Ukrainian translation," says Anastasiia Hromova, Head of L&D and assessment.

This project is volunteer initiative of MHP’s personnel assessment team. The specialists have been working on it during the whole year of 2023 in consultation with the U.S. Hogan Assessment head office and supported by Hogan Assessment System Czech based in the Czech Republic. This collaboration resulted in the opportunity given to all Ukrainians to use Hogan personnel assessment tools in their mother tongue.

"The scope of the work appeared to be significant, and the questionnaire adaptation procedure required the English-Ukrainian translation and back translation of more than 600 questions of the questionnaires as well as all the scales and subscales of the Flash Report. We were working on this project in parallel with our operational tasks, so we sometimes worked overtime close to our limit, but the idea of pursuing a worthy case motivated us and inspired us to complete the work as soon as possible," says Yana Shkarbul, lead personnel assessment specialist at MHP.

Although Hogan Assessment isn’t widely used in Ukraine, MHP has implemented it in its practice more than three years ago and is now obtaining expected results. By using this tool, the company wants to ensure both personal and professional development of its employees.

In 2021, the company assessed 171 of its employees and external applicants, while in 2022, it conducted 213 assessments, and in 2023, 246 assessments. MHP plans to conduct at least 62 more assessments by the end of 2023.
