The websites Lenta.ru and Gazeta.ru will be blocked in Ukraine—Zelensky has signed a decree on new sanctions

President Volodymyr Zelensky has signed a decree enacting the NSDC decision of March 23 on the adjustment of the sanctions lists.

Thus, the citizens of the Russian Federation Alexei and Dmitry Ananyevs and the JSC Bashkir Soda Company were excluded from the list.

The Ananyev brothers are former members of the Russian Forbes list. Alexei was included in the rating for the last time in 2018 ($0.7 billion), Dmitry—in 2019 ($0.6 million). In September 2019, the Basmanny Court of Moscow arrested the Ananyevs in absentia. They were put on the international wanted list on charges of large-scale embezzlement at Promsvyazbank. Later, other criminal cases were added.

The new sanctions imply blocking the sites of the Russian news editions Lenta.ru and Gazeta.ru on the territory of Ukraine.

Svobodnaya Pressa, Utro.Ru, Russian Expert, Voice of Sevastopol, Ukraina.ru, SMI2, RT (Russia Today), jpgazeta.ru, asd.news, pikinform.ru, dnronlane.su, i-don.ru, rumedia24.com, dnr24.su, rmnews.ru, howto-news.info, and novosti.icu will also be blocked.

Sanctions have also been imposed against several dozen insurance, construction, engineering and other Russian companies.

Additionally. On March 20, the National Security and Defense Council applied sanctions to 19 companies from the sphere of using the subsoil of Ukraine. This was stated by the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Oleksiy Danilov at a briefing on the results of the meeting of the NSDC. "A decision has been made regarding sanctions in the context of subsoil use... With respect to these 19 companies, the maximum type of sanctions that our country can apply, the National Security and Defense Council have been imposed," he said.
