On the night of July 20, 2023, Russian aggressors launched a missile strike on Mykolaiv. 18 casualties were reported, and nine of them were hospitalized, including five children. Two people were rescued from under the rubble.

"A total of 18 people were injured, of whom nine were hospitalized, including five children. Two people were rescued from under the rubble. It’s a miracle that they came out alive," Vitalii Kim, head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, reported.

According to Mykolaiv mayor Oleksandr Sienkevych, an explosion created an enormous crater near a three-story residential building. Many buildings nearby were damaged, including at least five apartment buildings.

Oleh Kiper, head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, reported that the attack caused damage in the city center, and a fire broke out spanning 300 square meters. Four local residents, including a child, were injured, and one man was found dead under the rubble.
