Quarantine in Kyiv may end before April 30, if the situation with the spread of coronavirus does not worsen. This means that Ukraininas can spend the May holidays without quarantine.
In particular, on April 28, a meeting of the State Commission on Technogenic and Environmental Safety and Emergencies will be held. Exactly during this meeting a decision will be made on whether to cancel quarantine in the capital. This was stated by the mayor of Kyiv Vitali Klitschko on the air of the program Freedom of speech (Svoboda Slova in Ukrainian) on the channel ICTV.
Klitschko also noted that the lockdown had given positive results, but recalled that the virus is dangerous not only for the elderly, but also for young people.
In particular, the mayor said that Kyiv did not receive more than 2.5 billion UAH in the budget due to the closure of small and medium-sized businesses during lockdowns.
At the same time, Oleh Ruban, the Head of the Main Department of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection in Kyiv, also announced the possibility of easing quarantine in the capital. According to him, the decision can be made within a week or as early as Friday, April 30.
Context. Earlier, Minister of Health Maksym Stepanov also spoke about cancelling the lockdown and the transition of Kyiv to another quarantine zone.
On April 21, the Cabinet of Ministers extended the adaptive quarantine regime in Ukraine due to the spread of coronavirus until June 30, 2021. You can read more about the existing restrictions here. At the same time, strict quarantine was extended in Kyiv until April 30.
