On Monday, May 2, units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed two boats of the Russian Federation near Zmiinyi Island (Snake Island), Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Valerii Zaluzhnyi reported.
Raptor-type crafts were destroyed by Bayraktar TB2 strike UAVs.
Judging by the video, one of the boats was moving rather quickly at the time of the attack, but this did not save it from a precise hit.
Reference. Project 03160 (Raptor) is a series of high-speed coastal patrol craft. They are intended to perform the following tasks in the daytime and at night: transportation of an assault group of up to 20 people; duty in assigned areas; interception and detention of small targets; and saving people.
The boats look a lot like the Swedish project Strb 90H. It is believed that they are designed on their basis or under license.
They are built at a factory in St. Petersburg. The first craft was launched on August 15, 2013.
The performance characteristics of the craft Raptor:
- displacement 23 tons (full);
- length 17 m;
- width 4 m;
- draft 0.9 m;
- rate of sailing — up to 48 knots (88 km/h);
- cruising radius — up to 300 miles;
- crew — 2 persons and 20 special personnel;
- propulsion system — two CAT (Caterpillar) C18 ACERT diesel engines of 1150 hp each. with. Propulsive devices — two Rolls-Royce Kamewa 36A3 water-jet propellers;
- armament — a multi-purpose combat remote-controlled module Uprava-Kord, caliber 14.5 mm, with a gyro-stabilized optoelectronic module and two machine guns Pecheneg, caliber 7.62 mm.
