According to the source, Poroshenko is directly related to the transfer of the PrykarpatZakhidtrans oil product pipeline to the People's Deputy from the Opposition Platform—For Life Viktor Medvedchuk in 2016. In this regard, the NSDC and the Office of the President wanted to "tie" Poroshenno to Medvedchuk, accusing the ex-President of sponsoring terrorism.
Moreover, the possibility of imposing sanctions against the nominal owner of the TV channel Pryamoy Volodymyr Makeyenko was considered.
"Not wanting to be sanctioned, Makeyenko demanded that Poroshenko re-register the channel," the source in the Office of the President said.
Context. On February 18, 2021, Poroshenko officially bought the Pryamoy TV channel in order to prevent the NSDC from imposing sanctions on it. It is also worth noting that over the past few years he was repeatedly asked whether he is the actual owner of the TV channel—he answered in the negative.
