President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan states he is ready to mediate negotiations between the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the President of Russia Vladimir Putin. This is reported by the outlet Anadolu.
According to Erdogan, to do this, Ankara has established contacts with the Ukrainian side and with Putin.
"Our position on the situation in Ukraine is well known. Turkey is in favor of ensuring peace with an emphasis on the situation of the Crimean Tatars. We have repeatedly discussed this issue with friendly Russia. Contacts continue. We hope that the region will not turn into a war zone and peace will reign. Ankara stands for the positive development of processes. Turkey is ready for mediation. I am ready to discuss this issue with the parties," Erdogan says.
Earlier it was reported that Zelenskyy sent, through Erdogan, Putin a list of Crimean Tatars, whose release Ukraine was demanding. Also during the press marathon on November 26, Zelenskyy gave the list of countries ready to help Ukraine in the case of a full-scale war with Russia. This list, in particular, includes Turkey.
