The end of the war in Ukraine and true peace will be possible only if the occupied Crimea is returned to Ukraine. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy made this statement.
The head of the Ukrainian state pointed out that it was Crimea that Russia's attack on Ukraine started from, so true peace can only be brought about by the return of the peninsula.
"Everything started with it (Crimea —
). Its return will mean the rebirth of true peace. The Russian potential for aggression will be rooted out when the Ukrainian flag is back in its rightful place in the cities and villages of Crimea. Crimea must be freed from Russia's use as a bridgehead. Then the world will feel that there will be no more losses, and people will feel that the world is becoming safer," the Ukrainian president emphasized.
According to Zelenskyy, it will be quite difficult to reintegrate Crimea after such a long occupation, but the president is confident that it is possible if joint efforts are made.
Context. In August, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, created an advisory council on the deoccupation and reintegration of the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol.
