Ukrposhta is starting the process of acquiring the bank and has already announced a tender for an appraiser on the ProZorro website.
This was stated by the Head of the enterprise Ihor Smilyansky on his Facebook page.
"We have been working on this for four long years. And when the decision has been approved by all parties, Ukrposhta begins the process of acquiring the bank. It will be small, without branches or with a small number of them (we have 11,000 of our own ones) and, of course, without a portfolio of problem assets".

He also added that Ukrposhta is currently considering two or three potential banks for acquiring and hopes to complete the deal within five to six months.
Context. Last year, the Verkhovna Rada adopted in the first reading a draft law that allows Ukrposhta to provide banking services. This is due to a problem of accessing the financial infrastructure by the rural population, since Oschadbank does not have enough branches in such areas.
Earlier it was also reported that Oschadbank will be the base bank for the delivery of pensions to pensioners, who now receive them in cash via Ukrposhta.
