Anti-vaccination campaign in Ukraine: Stepanov has told who slows down vaccination against coronavirus

The vaccination process in Ukraine is not going according to plan. At the end of last week, it was planned to do 10,000 coronavirus vaccinations daily.

However, so far the number of vaccinations per day is 3,000, according to the Minister of Health Maksym Stepanov.

Rates of vaccination against coronavirus in Ukraine

The Minister noted that he had set a different target for the vaccination rate. He is also going to personally intervene in the situation in order to increase the number of vaccinated persons in the near future.

Anti-vaccination campaign

At the same time, Stepanov said that an anti-vaccination campaign was launched in Ukraine aimed at putting pressure on Ukraine's national security.

He believes that political forces and experts are behind such activities, who want the Russian vaccine against coronavirus to be used in Ukraine.

«Some of the potential customers for anti-vaccination hysteria, including people who by hook or by crook, want Ukraine not to use vaccines from the leading countries of the world—the same Covishield, Pfizer, AstraZeneca and other vaccines. But use only the vaccine produced in the aggressor country.»

Fakes about the coronavirus vaccine

The Minister also said that one of the most common vaccine fakes was the appearance of severe side effects. However, he noted that for 20,000 vaccinations, the Ministry received 185 reports of side effects from immunization.

The Ministry of Health records any reports of vaccination side effects—from reddening of the skin to an increase in temperature. No serious consequences of vaccination have been recorded in Ukraine.

Stepanov clarified that one case of side effects from vaccination against coronavirus was recorded in Ukraine—an increased temperature.

At the same time, US State Department Spokesman Ned Price stated that four Russian online platforms were spreading misinformation about vaccines that were approved by the US. The spread of fakes was carried out by the Russian intelligence department.
