Liz Truss, the British Foreign Secretary, announced that the country allotted 45 mln pounds for the most vulnerable social groups suffering from the Russia-Ukraine war.
"British assistance will support the most vulnerable in Ukraine, particularly women and children, who are facing increased risk of sexual violence and exploitation," — the politician stated.
The funds will go to UN Agencies and local charities to provide care, support, and protection for those who need it. In particular, GBP 15 mln will be transferred to the UN Ukrainian Humanitarian Fund. UNICEF will receive another GBP 15 mln to finance vital services such as food for pregnant women and children’s mental health support.
According to Liz Truss, Britain will also supply medical products, including wound care kits for over 220 thousand. patients and about 380 thousand medicine packages.
