Ukrgasvydobuvannya has found a large natural gas field. According to the press service of Naftogaz, its reserves may amount to a billion cubic meters.
The oil and gas field was studied from scratch, and the field was opened with an almost 4,000-meter-deep well. Before drilling, experts conducted a 3D seismic survey. The obtained geological information indicates that the reserves of the new field may amount to up to 1 billion cubic meters of gas.
This is not the first discovery of new hydrocarbon deposits this year.
"By increasing reserves, we are creating the foundations for the sustainable growth of domestic gas production," said Oleg Tolmachev, acting general director of JSC "Ukrgazvydobuvannya".
He also added that Ukrgazvydobuvannya would continue the geological exploration program at this field and planned to drill new wells here.
As was reported earlier, the Ukrgasvydobuvannya joint-stock company launched two more high-throughput wells. In total, they will provide more than 430,000 cubic meters of natural gas per day.
