Ukraine, Poland, and Lithuania agreed on the transit of Ukrainian grain to the port of Klaipėda

Ukraine, Poland, and Lithuania agreed on the transit of Ukrainian grain to the Lithuanian port of Klaipėda.

The agreement was announced on the CTS website.

Veterinary, sanitary, and phytosanitary control will be transferred from the Ukrainian-Polish border to the port of Klaipėda for all agricultural cargoes shipped to this port.

Quote"This will speed up transit through the territory of Poland," the message reads.

The joint decision was said to have been made at the meeting of the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, Mykola Solskyi, with the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development of the Republic of Poland, Robert Telus, and the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Lithuania, Kęstutis Navickas.

Solskyi reported that Ukraine proposed a new mechanism, and Telus and Navickas said that their governments supported this type of control and considered it a constructive step.

As was reported previously, the President of Poland, Andrzej Duda, said on TVP1 on September 24 that his country had prepared transit corridors through which Ukraine would be able to export its grain to countries that needed it. However, Warsaw does not lift its ban on sales.
