Ukraine has started exporting grain via Croatian ports, says Svyrydenko

Ukrainian Minister of Economy Yuliia Svyrydenko and Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković discussed demining, the investigation of war crimes, and the establishment of new trade routes to export Ukrainian grain during a bilateral meeting at the Three Seas Initiative summit in Bucharest.

Quote"Ukrainian grain has already been exported through Croatian ports. Thank you for this opportunity. Although this trade route is niche, it is already popular. We are ready to develop it, expanding the capacity of the transit corridor. We believe that this logistics route will play an important role in bilateral trade between our countries even after the war," said Yuliia Svyrydenko.

The parties raised the issue of accelerating the localization of the production of demining equipment in order to start its production at domestic enterprises as soon as possible. Preparations for the demining conference, which will be held in Zagreb this October, were also discussed. Both the post-war recovery and the further development of the Ukrainian economy depend on the speed of demining.

Andrej Plenković offered Ukraine help with investigating war crimes since Croatia has extensive experience in it. Specifically, Croatia can share experience and expertise in establishing special prosecutors and a special police force to investigate war-time crimes.
