Ukraine presented a strategy to build up the potential of its aviation market to European partners at the ACI EUROPE | АСІ WORLD 2023 General Assembly in Barcelona, according to the press service of Boryspil International Airport.
"The process of post-war recovery of the Ukrainian aviation market is impossible without the involvement of international aid and the financial resources of the donor community to meet the needs of the damaged airport infrastructure and maintain the certification fitness of the personnel and the necessary technical equipment for successful and safe operation of the airport in the post-war period," said Oleksii Dubrevskyi, Director General of Boryspil International Airport.
He also drew the attention of the international community to the problems of the Ukrainian aviation industry, which is suffering a crisis due to the war, the airspace closure, the destruction of infrastructure, the loss of qualified and experienced personnel, and economic losses. Dubrevskyi added that the Ukrainian aviation industry must remain at the epicenter of modern trends and keep up with world standards after the opening of airspace.
According to the head of the airport, many issues affecting the recovery of the aviation industry need to be resolved now. Ukraine considers options to salvage its aviation industry with its European partners. Thus, a meeting was agreed upon at the event between the heads of Ukrainian airports, UkSATSE, the State Aviation Administration of Ukraine, and the European organizations EASA, Eurocontrol, and DG NEAR under the auspices of ACI EUROPE.
