Kramatorsk Energomashspetsstal has received certification for the Akkuyu NPP construction

The Nuclear Regulatory Agency of the Republic of Turkey (NRA) has extended the certificate of the blank parts manufacturer for the Akkuyu NPP to the Kramatorsk PJSC Energomashspetsstal.

The updated certificate No. TR-IMO-001 was issued to Energomashspetsstal on December 31, 2020 for a period of five years and is valid from January 11, 2021 to January 11, 2026.

Certification means that all production processes and fixed assets of the enterprise comply with the requirements of standards and guidelines in the field of atomic energy use.

It is noted that Energomashspetsstal has mastered a new technology for manufacturing shanks and discs for low-pressure rotors. This made it possible to obtain qualifications of General Electric and participate in the serial production of steam turbine rotors parts for Akkuyu NPP power units No. 3 and No. 4.

Earlier, Energomashspetsstal successfully produced 4,763 tons of blank parts for Akkuyu NPP power units No. 1,2. During this time, the enterprise has manufactured hundreds of parts for the reactor vessel, steam generators, pressure compensator, main circulation pumping unit (MCPU), main circulation pipeline and other equipment of the nuclear island. In supervisory audits of the enterprise and acceptance inspections of manufactured products, together with the customer, inspectors of the NRA take part on an ongoing basis.

The Akkuyu NPP is being built in Turkey on the Mediterranean coast in the Mersin province. The project provides for the construction of four 1200 MW power units each. The design life of the Akkuyu NPP is 60 years, with the possibility of extension.

Energomashspetsstal is the largest Ukrainian manufacturer of special cast and forged products of individual and small-scale production. Its products are used in metallurgy, shipbuilding, energy (wind, steam, hydro, nuclear) and general mechanical engineering. The owner of the company is the Russian Atomenergomash (state corporation Rosatom).
