The Ukraine Energy Support Fund has accumulated €322 million

The Ukraine Energy Support Fund has accumulated a total of €322 million. Of this amount, €192 million from 15 donors has already been transferred to the fund’s accounts, and another €130 million is announced to be donated in the near future.

The calculations were reported by Ukrainian MP Danylo Hetmantsev.

Requests for a total of €310 million from Ukrainian state-owned and private energy companies have been approved to date. As part of the Fund’s work, 200 contracts for the purchase of energy equipment have been made between January and September 2023.

The Ukraine Energy Support Fund was established in spring 2022 at the initiative of the European Commission and the Energy Community Secretariat.

Since the Fund’s establishment, public and private donors from Germany, the United Kingdom, Sweden, Austria, Iceland, Spain, Denmark, the Netherlands, and Hungary, as well as the European Commission and the Regional Association of Energy Regulatory Authorities (ERRA), have made donations to it.

Earlier, the United States announced a new package worth $125 million to support Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. The money will be used to buy high-voltage autotransformers, mobile gas turbines for the provision of basic utility services, and equipment for the repair of distribution substations.
