On April 10, the SE Medical Procurement of Ukraine received 200,000 doses of CoronaVac coronavirus vaccine produced by the Chinese company Sinovac Biotech.
The medication must undergo quality control that includes visual inspection, verification of accompanying documents, and quantitative control.
Delivering the vaccine to the regions of Ukraine may begin on April 12, according to the order of the Ministry of Health on the distribution of vaccines.
Vaccination with CoronaVac can begin on April 13, Chief Sanitary Doctor Viktor Lyashko said.
The time interval between the first and second dose is 14-28 days. The second vaccination is recommended closer to the 28th day, Lyashko explained.
He also said that 215,000 doses of CoronaVac vaccine that have already been brought to Ukraine will be distributed between:
- people with disabilities and their caregivers;
- people who will work at External Independent Evaluation 2021 (ZNO-2021 in Ukrainian);
- Olympians and Paralympians who will represent Ukraine at the Games in 2021;
- policemen.
Additionally. 12,112 new cases of coronavirus disease COVID-19 were recorded in Ukraine during the day on April 10. 4,694 people were hospitalized, 235 died.
4,048 people were vaccinated against coronavirus during the day, and 377,050 people have been vaccinated since the start of the vaccination campaign.
