The Polish government supported providing advanced anti-aircraft missile systems Piorun and their ammunition to Ukraine. This was reported by Mariusz Błaszczak, the head of the Ministry of National Defense of the country.
"Good news. At my request, the Council of Ministers passed a resolution on assistance to Ukraine. We will provide advanced Polish equipment—Piorun man-portable air defense systems and ammunition," he stated.
Piorun is a man-portable anti-aircraft missile system of Polish production designed to strike at low-flying aircraft, helicoptersб and unmanned aerial vehicles. It was created as a result of a deep modernization of the complex Grom (therefore, the second designation of the missile is Grom-M). The weight of the complex is 16.5 kg (the missile weighs 10.5 kg). The missile is capable of hitting targets at an altitude of up to 400 m and a range of up to 6,500 m.
Context . Recall: the day before, another aircraft from the United States of America arrived in Ukraine that delivered 84 tons of live ammunition for small arms for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
