The EU to allocate €50 billion for Ukraine

The European Commission's proposal to support Ukraine with €50 billion of loans and grants over the next four years is not contested by anybody.

The news was announced by European Budget Commissioner Johannes Hahn, according to Sky.News.

EU governments have been haggling over a revision of the 27-nation bloc's long-term budget after the Commission proposed that EU countries provide extra funds to the common budget, most of it for Ukraine.

Quote"The central piece is the support for Ukraine. This is not contested by anybody, even in magnitude," he said.

Earlier, Ukraine received the tenth €1.5 billion tranche of macro-financial assistance from the European Union for 2023.
