Oleksandr Klymenko was officially appointed as head of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office.
This was reported by the head of the President’s Office Andrii Yermak.
"Today, the head of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office was appointed. Oleksandr Klymenko took the position after having been declared the winner of a fair competition by the Competition Commission and approved by Prosecutor General Andrii Kostin immediately after he was appointed. Independent anti-corruption infrastructure is an important component of democracy in Ukraine," Yermak wrote.
Earlier, on July 19, the competition commission approved the results of the competition for the position of the SAPO head. The winner has been known since late 2021.
On July 27, the General Prosecutor’s Office confirmed to the qualification commission for the selection of the SAPO head that the finalists of the competition meet the requirements of the laws on lustration, the prevention of corruption, and access to state secrets.
On the same day, Andrii Kostin, the chairman of the Committee on Legal Policy of the Verkhovna Rada, was appointed Prosecutor General of Ukraine.
