Monday marks the start of business school for the more than 250 new lawmakers of Zelenskiy’s Servant of the People party. This new crop of Rada members, most of them new to politics, will undergo a mandatory, one week course at the Kyiv School of Economics, a business school with a free-market orientation. Macroeconomics and sectoral economics will be two focuses of the intensive skills upgrade for a group who could be in office for as long as five years.
"The course will "deepen understanding of the socio-economic situation in the international and national dimension, as well as set of skills and competences that will be needed by people's deputies in their daily work. The program is based on best international practices, since it is based on the Harvard Adult Learning course."
According to KSE, the training course is based on the portfolio method. After passing the program participants will have their own state-owned portfolio, which they will be able to implement in the next five years — from their personal development strategy to proposing policies and legislation.
