Scandinavian Airlines (SAS), a multinational airline headquartered in Sweden, operated its first scheduled flight from Stockholm to Kyiv with the intention of operating them once a week on Thursdays.
The air carrier will fly from the largest Swedish airport Arlanda to Boryspil Airport, the outlet avianews reports.
In Ukraine, the first flight from Stockholm was met by fire trucks. They created a welcoming water arch. This symbol is used in aviation to mark memorable events such as the first or last flight.
Schedule of flights Stockholm-Kyiv-Stockholm SAS:
Stockholm 09:45 → Kyiv 13:10, Thursday
Kyiv 14:00 → Stockholm 15:35, Thursday
This is the second direction of the Scandinavian airline to Ukraine. The airline also flies to Boryspil Airport from the Norwegian capital Oslo.
Both routes are based on the low-cost model. The cheapest tickets include only 8 kg of carry-on luggage. Baggage, food, and drinks must be paid for separately.
According to the SAS website, the minimum price for air tickets from Kyiv to Stockholm and back in December 2021 starts from 220 euros.
Arlanda Airport, the base one for SAS, is located 40 km from the capital of Sweden.
