In Ukraine, the government may relax quarantine restrictions in the summer, as the epidemiological situation in the country has stabilized, and the population and business are experiencing a certain "quarantine fatigue," Minister of Health Viktor Lyashko stated in an interview with TSN.
"There is already quarantine fatigue, pandemic fatigue. Therefore, as the epidemiological situation has stabilized, certain relaxation can be made. There is no such large-scale outbreak, that is why we are talking about the golden mean—the ability of the medical system to treat and economic issues," the Minister explained.
Context. The quarantine and the emergency regime in Ukraine are valid until June 30, 2021. They were first introduced on March 11, 2020. Thus, the quarantine regime has been in force in the country for over a year. To date, an adaptive quarantine is in force in Ukraine. It provides for the division into four zones—"green", "yellow", "orange", and "red". As of May 31, 2021, all regions are in the "yellow" zone, there are prerequisites for the transition of a number of regions to the "green" zone.
