Not by plant-based meat alone: artificial fish manufacturer Good Catch enters the Ukrainian market

The American brand of plant-based fish and seafood Good Catch enters the Ukrainian market. The first product presented in Ukraine will be plant-based fish cakes.

This was reported by the company West Mills that has become the official distributor of Good Catch in Ukraine.

Good Catch products can be tasted in more than 20 restaurants in the country, including:

The company has noted that plant-based fish is a safe, healthy and tasty alternative. It is free of mercury, antibiotics and microplastics and is free of offensive odor. In addition, it reduces the number of environmental problems that arise from overfishing.

However, it is not yet known whether Good Catch products will reach supermarkets.

Context. The global industry of plant-based substitute for meat in 2020 reached a volume of $20.7 billion. Such data of the research company Euromonitor International was presented by the TV channel CNBC. Specialists expect that the market will continue to grow and will reach $23.2 billion by 2024.

Manufacturers of substitutes for animal products (alternative protein), that are used in food, clothing, cosmetics, and chemicals, in the first half of 2020 raised $1.5 billion in investments.
