On May 10 and 11, 2023, bilateral and multilateral meetings will be held in Istanbul, involving representatives of Ukraine, Russia, and the UN, according to the Turkish Ministry of Defense.
The agenda involves the prolongation of the Grain Deal to ensure prompt, safe, and effective work of the Grain Corridor, which is vital for global food supply and security as well as preventing losses for the countries in need by ensuring stable food prices.
The creation of a detailed and safe evacuation plan for Turkish merchant vessels and their crews stuck in Ukrainian ports to come back will be considered separately.
During the past two days, no vessels have been inspected as part of the deal brokered by the UN to facilitate vital grain exports from Ukraine through the fault of the Russian side.
